Product development & prototyping

Get it off the screen.

Some questions only make sense once you can hold the answer. Our 3D printed prototypes and full-scale mock-ups let you see the scale, try the fit and find the next change.

From digital geometry to a physical first version.

What to bring

Your starting design and the question the prototype needs to answer. Include size, the next decision and your deadline.

How we approach it
  1. Choose what to learn

Define the question: appearance, scale, fit, assembly or another requirement. This helps establish the right prototype size, material and level of detail.

  2. Develop the model and print plan

Review the source files and agree any modelling work. Identify critical features, print segmentation and what can be simplified for this stage.

  3. Review and refine

Assess the physical result against the original objective. Record the changes needed and agree whether the next step is another prototype or a production review.

A few useful answers

Do I need a finished design?

No. A rough concept is enough to begin a conversation. We will discuss what design development is required and agree that work before printing.

Will the prototype perform like the final product?

Only where that has been specifically planned and assessed. A model made to review appearance or scale may use different materials or construction from the final product.

Can you move from prototype to production?

We can review that next stage with you. Final geometry, material, quantity, finishing and acceptance requirements are agreed as a separate production scope.
