Wayfinding and community forms with a local identity.
What to bring
The site, users, exposure, access and maintenance plan. Include the required service life and the project team’s standards.
How we approach it
-
Understand the site
Discuss users, location, circulation, exposure and maintenance responsibilities. Identify the project standards and approvals the wider team needs to satisfy.
-
Develop the element and its interfaces
Review dimensions, material, drainage, joints and fixing points. Consider prototypes or samples to assess form, finish and assembly.
-
Coordinate delivery and upkeep
Plan transport, access, installation interfaces and replacement or maintenance needs. Agree which work is included and which requires other project partners.
A few useful answers
Can you make outdoor seating or planters?
These are applications we can discuss. The material, geometry, fixing method and verification requirements need to be assessed for the specific site and use.
Can components be replaced individually?
Modular design can be explored at the outset. Share maintenance access and replacement requirements so connections and part sizes can be considered.
Do you manage all site works?
Site works and installation responsibilities are defined in the quotation. Bring the relevant landscape, construction and engineering partners into the discussion where required.
